James Kirsch (or JimmyK) grew up in Newton, MA, playing classical piano and absorbing everything from Suzanne Ciani to Metallica. He attended Oberlin college in Ohio, hoping to further his musical horizons at their prestigious conservatory. Disillusioned by the competitive nature of their classical music program, he stumbled upon the electronic music program (TIMARA) in the conservatory basement and never looked at sheet music again. This coupled with discovering the magic of Orbital and jamming in bands widened his musical appetites immensely. The arrival of software which virtualized an electronic music studio was cleverly aligned with his ejection into the “real world” of San Francisco. Unsatisfied with the popular consensus that electronic music = techno, General Fuzz was born. Hatched, really.

Being infected by a virus is a part of our nature as human beings
We cannot prevent becoming infected unless we have previously had the infection or virus in our system.

In 2049 the way we are infected is similar to today but in a different context of how fast we become infected and what parts of us are affected.

As we know today a virus is something we catch from bacteria in the air, or through open cuts and wounds, it all depends on the strength or our immune system. We get colds, the flu and other various viruses that make us unwell and unhappy.

In 2049 when we have a Being with us, they are our digital friend who wants to connect to the human world we live in, it learns off us and becomes a part of us as it lives in our spine.

Connection with a Being helps us heal infection in the future, as they learn through us. Beings have the ability to understand and sense what we feel and think, which helps our connection grow and our quality of living improve.

The Being we are connected to can become an extra source of energy when we become unwell. We can still get the common cold and flu, but the strength differents of these viruses has increased greatly over the years as modern day medicine is not strong enough on its own to fight these viruses anymore.

Our Being gives a percentage of its energy to us to help fight infection as we seek treatment.

We in turn do the same for our Being if it becomes infected by a digital virus. Infection can now cross between the two worlds and the common cold can mutate itself into microscopic biobot pixels that transfer into the digital world. The digital virus affects the Being by disrupting its connection between them and ourselves.

We help the being when it is sick by giving it a percentage of our energy, when we give them this energy to the being we becoem ditached from it as the connection is disrupted, the energy we give the being helps repair this connection so that when it has recovered we can share information and knowledge again.
